Wood Turner
Shepherdstown’s Neil Super is an award-winning wood turner who specializes in end tables and elegant items for kitchen and table, including bowls crafted from the wood of trees with historical or cultural significance, as well as sentimental value to his customers. His work is displayed for sale at various retail galleries in West Virginia and Maryland. Neil also does architectural and furniture production turning, provides custom sawmilling services on a bandsaw sawmill, and, for over a decade, has taught a monthly, comprehensive introductory wood turning class, both at the Woodcraft Store in Leesburg and at his Charles Town studio at the Shenandoah Planing Mill. He enjoys collecting vintage lathes and trying to restore them to their former glory.
