Connections

by Annette Verna

The artists of the Over the Mountain Studio Tour meet three times each year.  We use our January meeting to sew the seeds for the current year and glean from our efforts of the previous one.  Part of being a member of the tour means being active on our various committees and sharing in the work that maintains and promotes this outstanding bunch of artisans, and allows us to keep meeting and enjoying each other’s company.  And so we start planning this year ahead!

In January, we met for a potluck at Isabel Wilder’s home.  Sitting at Isabel’s big dining room table, it was wonderful to watch the camaraderie.  Our gatherings are joyful and fun, and we share good food!  We look forward to coming together, catching up on news and applauding accomplishments.  We care about each other.  We fit well together.  You could say we have a good vibe!

The end of February brings the important work of the Jury Committee.  They will meet to review the work of prospective members.  Not only does the committee look for a level of quality in art or craft work, but also for special skills or talents to complement that of our current members, and an overall mindset and personality fit with our mission and our people.

Would you love to be part of an incredible group of artists?  If you’ve thought about jurying,  information is on our web site under the “About” menu.  We’d love to see your work!
