One of the greatest joys of being part of the Over the Mountain Studio Tour is the opportunity to connect with such a talented group of artists. Our Annual Summer Show in Shepherdstown brought together our tour's participating artists, giving visitors a wonderful preview of the creativity they can expect during our November Studio Tour. From paintings and pottery to fiber art, woodworking, jewelry, and more, the exhibition showcased an incredible variety of styles, techniques, and artistic voices.
For the artists, the Summer Show is about more than displaying our work—it's a chance to reconnect, share ideas, and celebrate each other's creative journeys. As artists, we spend so much of our time working quietly in our own studios that opportunities like this are especially meaningful. Seeing everyone's latest work reminded me how much we continue to grow and evolve as artists. Just as rewarding was catching up with these friends, sharing stories about our creative process, and encouraging one another. I always leave this event feeling energized and inspired to head back to my own studio with fresh ideas.

The Summer Show is a reminder that the Over the Mountain Studio Tour is about more than beautiful artwork—it's about community. I'm grateful to be part of such a talented and welcoming group of artists, and I can't wait to open my studio doors this November. I hope you'll join us for the tour, meet the artists, explore the places where we create, and experience the inspiration that comes from seeing art made with passion and purpose.
