Thought I’d peek in to see how our Over the Mountain Studio Tour artists are hunkering down in their shelters and whether they see this more isolated time as a benefit. I started with potter Joy Bridy who is throwing over the apple cart. When I asked what direction her art was currently moving, she laughed “That’s a Pandora’s box. I disassembled my workshop, painted the walls Gothic Purple, a nice hazy gray. I kept thinking ‘What am I doing?’ I’m dabbling and having a lot of failures,” she says brightly. It’s clear that an artistic rebirth is in the making. See her “past” work at joybridy.com.
And how else will she use this sheltering time? “I’m planting a victory garden. I’m buying the seeds of veggies I want to eat and growing them.”
